How did you get into disc golf and how long have you been playing?
A friend told me about ultimate and when I was searching for local clubs remember seeing something about disc golf but never really looked into it.
It wasn’t until I saw a group of people playing at my local park and they made it look really easy. Those bins that we thought were for garbage were in fact part of the game.
I binge watch YouTube videos. If you ever want to get someone hooked on disc golf make them watch a around of 18 with players like Simon, Eagle, Ricky and Paul. They make it look so easy and I’ll tell you what after watching a weeks worth of videos I was hooked. I ordered an Innova starter pack and until it came,
Of course when I receive my discs they do not fly like they did on YouTube.
I’ve been playing just over a year.
Dominant hand?
Right handed
Are you Backhand or forehand dominate?
I can’t throw an anhyzer far so I favour a forehand for those type of shots. I would have to say I’m about 50 / 50 when it comes to playing both backhand and forehand.
What was the first disc golf disc you threw and where is it now?
I ordered the Innova starter pack online and while I waited for it to arrive. I got through my local club a roc, buzzz and a few aviar’s. From the starter pack I’ve lost the shark and leopard, they were returned a few weeks later and lost them again the next day to never to be seen again.
You’re on the first hole at your local course, what disc do you reach for?
Teebird 3, nice straight shot at the basket. The hole is a par 3, 75m / 250’
What is your favourite course and why?
We currently have two courses in my area Eddison Park which is a longer course and John Knight Park which you could play with 2 discs.
I do prefer Eddison park as their heads has a mixture of holes, but is mostly on the longer side. if I am struggling I will go to John Knight and build up my confidence as most holes can be birded on that course.
Your disc golf bag catches on fire. You can only save 3 discs – What are those discs and why?
C line FD – easy to throw driver. With a good glide.
Star Teebird3 – I love throwing forehands with this disc
Buzzz – Nice flat top. Easy to throw, straight flying disc
What is your favorite disc and why?
Teebird 3 – very consistent disc, straight with a late fade at the end. All i need is a putter and this disc and i’m happy.
What is your favorite throw to play during a round of disc golf?
Tough question because I’m still very new to the game. But I prefer to throw flat and let the disc do the work.
Are you part of a league, if so what is your handicap?
Yes I am part of a league, my handicap is 16
How many times a week do you get to play or do field work?
When I first started I used to skip work and play disc golf at least four times a week. That’s how obsessed I was when I started this went on for about 6 months. I realised that I was teaching myself the wrong technique and got really annoyed and decided to only play once a week but concentrate on either fieldwork to learn correct form.
The discs that you regularly bag are they all one manufacturer or a mix bag? Name the brand / moulds

Do you have any superstitions, quirks or habits when on the course.
Other than a big exhale before a throw, I don’t think I have any quirks or habits.
What do you love about disc golf?
It would have to be the people you meet when playing. Also, now that I have started to throw with better form, the flight of a disc when you throw it perfectly.
What part of disc golf do you find the most challenging?
Since I’m relatively new to the game, It would have to be the mental game and being consistent. I find that when I play solo rounds there are far more birdies, compared to when I’m playing on league day.
What has been your greatest achievement to date in disc golf?
It would definitely be a tie between winning league and dropping 22 Strokes since I first started
If you could change anything about disc golf what would it be
More coverage of the FPO and better payments for female players.
If you could play any course in the world, what would that course be and who are the other three players on your card?
I would love to have a round with Page Pierce, Simon Lizzotte and Ricky Wysocki at my local course. It would be good to see the lines they take and how much they can beat the course record which is – 13
What advice would you give to a new player starting out?
Get a starter pack, join your local club, play and have fun.
When you’ve completely annihilated your discs because of all the trees you’ve hit. Buy discs in better plastic even if they’re similar speed discs, keeping the weight very similar or just a little bit more ( < 160g ) The lighter weight discs will help with distance.
