How did you get into disc golf and how long have you been playing?
In 2011 my father and me found an article in the newspaper about disc golf and a new course that opened just 15 minutes away.
So we tried this new sport. One month later we tried it again and bought our first disc. Then we bought a second one, and so on… It became a father and son thing.
What is your dominant hand?
Right hand
Are you Backhand or forehand dominate?
It depends… I can throw farther with backhand but i’m more accurate with sidearm. But i would say i throw 50 to 65% backhand.
What was the first disc you threw and where is it now?
It was a white Latitude 64 pure. Next to my TV there are all my “special” discs stacked on each other.
You’re on the first hole at your local course, what disc do you reach for?
If im playing from the short tee (90m) i usually throw my MVP Resistor with a spike hyzer.
If im playing from the long tee (130m) i usually throw my Innova Boss or my Latitude 64 Gladiator (depends on the wind) with a hyzer.
What is your favourite course and why?
I’ve been to a lot of beautiful courses, but i don’t have a favourite one. in my top ten would be:
St.Thomas (local course)
– for beginners and pros
– awesome landscape
Ybbs (35 min away)
– nice to practice in the woods
– the course is getting better and better over time
Smolenice
– playing around a castle
Hostacov
– overall beautiful
Platak
– it’s in the Croatian mountains
– wild horses
Your disc golf bag catches on fire. You can only save 3 discs, What are those discs and why?
I always have my “lucky” marker in the bag. It was a present from a good friend.
My second disc would probably be a MVP Servo, because it’s straight and you can throw it sidearm and backhand. The third one would be a Discraft Zone. It’s my favourite disc…
What is your favourite disc and why?
Discraft Zone!
I have 5 zones in my bag… and everyone flies different. From understable to extreme overstable.
But i think my favourite one is the jawbreaker zone (my understable one) because I can use it for everything!
What is your favourite throw to play during a round of disc golf?
That’s a hard question… I just like to see them fly 🙂
Are you part of a league, if so what is your handicap?
I don’t play in a league but I do have a PDGA: 949 rating
How many times a week do you get to play or do field work?
A month ago me and some friends started a challenge: everyday 30 minutes putting! if you dont do it you get punished. Don’t worry, it’s not a hard punishment. 🙂 Sooo i guess i’m playing 7 times a week.
The discs that you regularly bag are they all one manufacturer or a mix bag?
If i like a disc i buy it. Im using Prodigy, Discraft, Latitude, Innova, Discmania,…
Do you have any superstitions or quirks when on the course. Such as like flipping your disc 3 times before a putt or special hat?
Don’t think so! I have a pre shot routine but i just aiming at the basket a few times. Nothing special…
What do you love about disc golf?
I love being in the nature alone or with friends, meeting new people,… I also like to play disc golf after a hard day at work. And i’m addicted to it…. 🙂
What part of disc golf do you find the most challenging?
For me it’s putting! That’s because we do the challenge (30 min a day)
What has been your greatest achievement to date in disc golf?
1x Austrian Champion Junior
2x Upper Austrian Champion Junior
If you could change anything about disc golf what would it be?
2 meter rule
If you could play any course in the world, what would that course be and who are the other three players on your card?
Maybe Nokia with Laurenz Schaurhofer, Stanislaus Amann and Simon Lizotte
What advice would you give to a new player starting out?
Don’t take it too serious, just have fun!
