How did you get into disc golf and how long have you been playing?
My fiancé started playing when we moved to study at the university. I just tried it a few times and thought it was boring.
In 2016 we moved back home and I played more and more. In 2017 I started play as therapy after a depression and then begun playing tournaments for real.
What is your dominant hand?
Right
Are you Backhand or forehand dominate?
Backhand, cant even play forehand.
What was the first disc you threw and where is it now?
A pink Soft Magnet. It lies in a sea beside a soccer field at our summer house. Had some field work, and did a grip lock…
You’re on the first hole at your local course, what disc do you reach for?
The basket is lower than the teepad. In both sides of the teepad you have trees and the fairway is wide and Open. One single tree to the right about 70 m forward and a big bush to the left. The basket is just in a straight line from the teepad. I throw my Jade with a little anhyzer to get it flip over and land in the middle of the fairway.
What is your favourite course and why?
Järva DiscgolfPark in Stockholm. I like the variety of the holes. And love the park!
Your disc golf bag catches on fire. You can only save 3 discs, What are those discs and why?
My Diamond air, it’s my go to driver. My Jade, it was the first disc I bought. My Pure Zero Medium Burst thats custom. Because it’s my lucky putter!
What is your favourite disc and why?
Diamond Air. It opened up a whole new world to me. I came so much longer with that than with my Jade. I can always trust my Diamond Air when I feel uncomfortable in a new course or lie.
What is your favourite throw to play during a round of disc golf?
Hyzer! I like holes with dogleg to the left. When I need to take my convict and take all the Power I have in one throw.
Are you part of a league, if so what is your handicap?
No
How many times a week do you get to play or do field work?
I play when I got time for it. If Im not having time to play I watch YouTube (Danny Lindahl’s a favourite!) but I try to putt every day and play 3-4 times a week.
The discs that you regularly bag are they all one manufacturer or a mix bag?
I only throw Trilogy. 50/50 Latitude 64 and Dynamic Discs. Think I have like one or to Westside Discs in my bag.
What is your pre round or pre tournament routine?
I warm up my knees and arms. Then I putt for like 10-15 minutes, after that I do upshots behind a tree or something. Then I do two or three drives on a short hole. I don’t like to throw to much before I go a round. Don’t want to mess up my feeling inside. Try to stay calm.
Do you have any superstitions or quirks when on the course. Such as like flipping your disc or special hat?
Haha.. I do. But I think my friends know them more than me. Before I drive I for a few seconds stand ”walking” on the same place on the teepad. I tried to not do It one time. Never again…
What do you love about disc golf?
The community around it! Meeting so much people. And that disc golfers are so helpful to other players. They support each others even if they play against each others!
What part of disc golf do you find the most challenging?
The mental. I don’t know how to practice that though…
What has been your greatest achievement to date in disc golf?
Going over 500 in rating. I have been going up 100 points a year! That was my goal also. So i’m really proud!
If you could change anything about disc golf what would it be?
More girls. We need more women in this sport. I have so many ideas of how to do that. And that is also a big reason why Im out playing so many tournaments even though I’m just an amateur. I want to inspire more ladies to the sport!
If given the chance how would you grow the sport of disc golf?
Oh. I could do that as a full time job. I already do a lot. I would drive around to every school in Sweden to show the sport, and tell them about it. I also would start a tournament only for girls through the whole country (Sweden)
If you could play any course in the world, what would that course be and who are the other three players on your card?
Thats a tough one. I don’t know. But I have always wanted to visit Emporia. The dream would be to play with Paige Pierce, Kona Panis and Tina Oakley. Paige since she’s such a great player and inspiration, Kona because I have followed her for a long time and it would be cool to play with her, Tina because she’s so cool and feels like she’s always so happy!
What’s your embarrassing disc golf story?
A journalist followed my card in a tournament one time. I stepped up on the teepad to throw. The journalist was standing straight to the right of the teepad, like 4 meters away. And I was supposed to throw forward… but I didn’t. Poor journalist…
What advice would you give to a new player starting out?
You will not be the best in the world at the first time you play. It will take time. Stay calm and have fun and it will all work out!
